Foreign Trade
The laws concerning foreign trade and the control of weapons of war have reached a level of meaning unknown since the end of the 1980's and in particular since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The increasing efforts of third world countries to acquire western weapon technology has crystallized into a problem which must be countered by export control laws. Companies active in foreign trade are confronted directly with numerous existing or later amended national and international legal requirements.

Our consultation is concerned with the practical and legal problems which can occur with application of the Foreign Trade Law (AWG), the Foreign Trade Decree (AWV), the Control Law for Weapons of War (KWKG), the Dual Use Regulation or other regulations concerning foreign trade law. For example, this concerns approval proceedings and reporting requirements. We also consult with and represent our clients against the responsible authorities concerning the introduction of sanctions or other proceedings.

We also deal with legal issues regarding the import of goods into the European Union and assist importers in meeting the pertinent legal requirements in particular with regard to the origin of the imported merchandize.
